AutoTextExpander

Auto Text Expander is a Mac app that allows you to create custom keyboard shortcuts to expand and replace text as you type! This can be extremely helpful for saving time and keystrokes, especially when typing out long email addresses, phrases you frequently use, or just looking to speed up your typing.

To get started with Auto Text Expander, simply download and install the app, and then open it up.

The app will ask you to create a new snippet.

You can do this by clicking the plus sign in the bottom left corner of the app.

Next, you'll need to give your snippet a name and then type out the text you'd like to expand.

In the example below, I've created a snippet called "Email Address" that will automatically expand to my full email address when I type it out.

Once you've created your snippet, you'll need to assign a keyboard shortcut to it.

You can do this by selecting the "Shortcut" tab and then pressing the key combination you'd like to use.

In the example below, I've assigned the shortcut "Cmd + E" to my "Email Address" snippet.

Now, when I type "Cmd + E" while typing an email, my full email address will automatically expand!

Auto Text Expander can also be used to replace text as you type.

In the example below, I've created a snippet called "Website Address" that will automatically replace the text "www." with my full website address when I type it out.

To assign a keyboard shortcut to a snippet that replaces text, select the "Replace" tab and then press the key combination you'd like to use.

In the example below, I've assigned the shortcut "Cmd + W" to my "Website Address" snippet.

Now, when I type "Cmd + W" while typing a website address, the text "www." will automatically be replaced with my full website address.

Auto Text Expander is a really helpful app that can save you a lot of time and keystrokes when typing out long email addresses, phrases, or website addresses.
