Google Rich Snippet Tester

Google Rich Snippet Tester is a web tool offered by Google for webmasters to test their web pages for Google Rich Snippets. Rich Snippets are the enhanced search results that are displayed on the search engine results pages (SERP).

Rich Snippets include extra information about the searched item, such as the author, the publication date, the rating, etc.

The Rich Snippet Tester tool is used to check if a web page contains the required markup to be eligible for a Rich Snippet.

The tool also allows webmasters to preview the Rich Snippet that will be displayed on the SERP for their web page.

The Rich Snippet Tester is divided into two parts- the Markup Validator and the Rich Snippet Preview.

The Markup Validator is used to check if the web page contains the correct markup to be eligible for a Rich Snippet.

The validator checks the page for the following markup: Microdata Schema.org RDFa The Rich Snippet Preview is used to preview the Rich Snippet that will be displayed on the SERP for the web page.

The preview displays the following information: Title Description Author Publisher Rating Date Published The Rich Snippet Tester is a very useful tool for webmasters to check if their web page is eligible for a Rich Snippet and to preview the Rich Snippet that will be displayed on the SERP.
